It is essential that your Milgard sliding windows slide fluidly. To maintain smooth operation of your Milgard window, you may have to make the proper adjustments. The article will tell you how to install and adjust rollers on a horizontal vinyl sliding window. (Please make sure to read our FAQs disclaimer before reviewing or enacting any FAQ content/recommendations.)
The required materials for this project are a flat head screwdriver, silicone spray, paper towels, and safety glasses and gloves.
First, you are going to need to open up the sash completely. Then remove the sash from the frame by lifting up on it and taking it off the track from the bottom. Looking at the bottom of your window, you will see two assemblies containing vinyl wheels. Remove the vinyl wheels with your flathead screwdriver by snapping it out of the wheel casing. Next, you will raise or lower the wheel to the desired height. Finally, snap the wheel back into place.
Once you finish adjusting the vinyl wheels of your Milgard sliding window, you need to clean the wheels. Roll the wheels back and forth to be sure that there is no dirt or debris on the wheels. Then to clean them, take the silicone spray and spray a little of it on each wheel and thoroughly clean each wheel with a paper towel, so there is no excess silicone.
Now that your wheels have been appropriately adjusted and cleaned, it is time to replace the sash of your Milgard vinyl sliding window. To reinsert the sash, you need to tilt the top of the sash until you can place it on the top of the track. Finally, you will carefully insert the bottom of the sash and push down into the track.
Finally, slide the sash back and forth to make sure everything works correctly. Your Milgard vinyl sliding window is now successfully cleaned and adjusted.
